Bangor Flight Services to Close - Posted on February 15, 2005, 11:25 am
With the planned privitization of Flight Services (Lockheed Martin won the contract), a majority of the Flight Service Stations around the nation are being closed. Unfortunately, this includes our friends up at Bangor. Starting in October (at least according to the latest information), the closest Flight Service Station will be in Islip, NY.

The folks at Bangor FSS do a great job, and we're sad to see them go.

President Bush In Portsmouth on Wednesday - Posted on February 15, 2005, 11:16 am
Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the air... President Bush is expected to be landing at Pease on Wednesday (Feb. 16, 2005) for a speech.

Right now, we don't know when he will be landing or where he will be speaking, or even how long he will be in town. So be sure to carefully check NOTAM's prior to any flight. And check back here as we'll update this post as new information becomes available.

Happy Flying!
